ODE TO THANKSGIVIKKUH
In case you missed Thanksgivikkuh you can make amends by reciting this poem.
Thanksgivikkuh, O Thanksgivikkuh!…..won’t you please forgivikkuh?
Forgive us all for not even knowing…..we had no clue of your coming nor your going
The last time you came was in 1889…..with no one to alert us, you never came to mind
Thanksgiving joined to Chanukah, who’d have ever thought?
We would have run to the store, and a quirky menurky we’d have bought
As the turkey and fixings on the table were served a lone candle might have glowed in limbo
and we’d happily eat the Thanksgiving feast while enjoying its gleam from the window.
But none of that happened Thanksgivikkuh! Your heart in two now torn!
We swear to you Thanksgivikkuh next time we’ll be ready and adorned.
What’s that you say? before you next come death will be our fate
Cause you won’t be coming round again until 2065 and 2070!!
